Day of the Dead in El Barrio
Bright orange flowers, sugar skulls, and pan de muerto fresh from the oven: There are signs everywhere that it’s almost Day of the Dead in El Barrio.
To celebrate, join our friends at El Museo del Barrio this Saturday, November 1, from Noon-6 p.m. for their annual DÃa de los Muertos festivities. There’ll be mariachi, traditional dance, facepainting, mask-making, and more — plus bites from local small business Taqueria El Tepeyac.
All week long, check out our map of local small businesses with Day of the Dead offerings. From ofrendas (altars) on display, to the pan dulce and cempasuchil (marigolds) you need to mark the holiday: See below to start exploring!
